If you do a lot of uplighting gigs, units like these can work really great - simply charge then, set them out, and turn them on the color you desire or use wireless DMX.
These are easy to set out, though not overly versatile - if you're dropping uplights in a venue they're perfect - if you want to also use them as a par or to light trees outdoors, etc, you might want to look at a wireless, battery-powered par instead.
The Element ST HEX in particular is pretty low powered - for small to medium sized ballrooms that are pretty dark, they work well, and the low price reflects that. Don't try to use them in brighter or taller spaces - they won't cut it.
